BIOGRAPHY

Alexis wields her combined hunger for societal progression, and love for prose, poetry, philosophy, and The People to craft copy, create content, and compile collections of work that portray marginalized folks’ collective and individual realities.

She leverages her direct and vicariously lived experiences, identity, intuition, and digital platforms to amplify these stories, allowing her to share vital information and resources, to learn and unlearn what she holds to be truth, and to ultimately build community with an array of people, ideas, and organizations, as she works in tandem and spirit with fellow artists, visionaries, philosophers, and wordsmiths toward a collective pursuit of forging a more equitable society for all.

Alexis happily joined Invest STL within the role of Narrative + Communications Support Partner in the summer of 2023. 

Prior to joining Invest STL, she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in the spring of 2019 from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale where she studied Recreation Management and Philosophy. Alexis has spent time as both an entrepreneur and a self-defined nonprofit nomad working for organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, Boys & Girls Club, and Girl Scouts.

In Spring 2020 Alexis pursued her idea of becoming a solo entrepreneur, resulting in starting her first business, Lex Get 2 Work, a resume and career writing service designed to support clients with surpassing digital equity barriers that hinder applicants from successfully navigating the job search.  

When Alexis isn’t working for Invest STL nor writing for clients she can likely be found anywhere between St. Louis and her home region of southern Illinois outside in nature, cracking jokes to make folks smile, writing, taking photos, streaming shows and documentaries, creating content, finger painting, coming up with new ideas, and likely deep in thought.
