BIOGRAPHY

Kenan believes that the power of the collective human spirit coupled with dedication of intentional will and a strong ethic of service, can be leveraged and channeled towards addressing our communities greatest challenges.

Kenan’s professional career ranges from working for the City of Cape Town, South Africa to most recently serving as the Executive Director of AmeriCorps St. Louis. As a public servant, Kenan has had the privilege of leading high-impact and cross-functional teams, aiding community recovery efforts in response to natural disasters, supporting the social service needs of our unhoused neighbors, community space improvements across the city, and workforce development programming for young adults.

Kenan is a St. Louis transplant and is proud to live in a city filled with driven changemakers, striving to build the best version of itself. Kenan earned a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He currently lives in Maplewood with his family and enjoys spending time outside with his dog, visiting neighborhood parks to test out the best slides with his toddler, trying new restaurants (and old favorites) with his partner, and traveling near and far – returning to St. Louis with a renewed sense of home.
