BIOGRAPHY

Lavoughnda Danner is a dedicated and dynamic social impact advocate with an unwavering commitment to advancing racial equity and social justice for Black communities. Her diverse career spans nonprofit leadership, education, political and union organizing, and community and economic development. Lavoughnda currently serves as the Neighborhood Solidarity Partner at Invest STL, where she helps build power and alignment among neighborhoods to drive equitable investment and transformation rooted in community leadership. She firmly believes in the transformative power of education and equitable access to resources and opportunities as essential tools for liberation and systemic change.

Throughout her career, Lavoughnda has championed the advancement of young people and Black communities, consistently working to dismantle structural barriers and address deep-rooted disparities. Through her social enterprise, Nah I’m Just Pretty, she leads advocacy, education, and organizing efforts to combat colorism and create space for healing and celebration of identity. Her work has been featured in Forbes Magazine and will continue to elevate the importance of dismantling anti-blackness and colorism across the globe.

Lavoughnda is also Board Chair of Transform 314, a nonprofit dedicated to educating, engaging, and empowering Black St. Louisans to drive local policy changes that foster thriving communities. She is an AmeriCorps VISTA and New Leaders Council alum and previously served as Co-Chair of the DC AmeriCorps Board.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Michigan State University, an MBA from Mary Baldwin University, and a Graduate Certificate in the Fundamentals of Economic Development from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. In her free time, Lavoughnda enjoys spending quality time with family and loved ones, playing basketball, hitting the gym, serving her community, and cultivating her business.
