Lyndsey Ellis

Narrative + Communications Support Partner

BIOGRAPHY

Lyndsey believes communities sharing and elevating their own stories is the most undervalued superpower. She’s excited to bring previous experience in nonprofit communications and independent journalism to Invest STL, focusing on neighborhood narrative reframing, strategic media partnership relations, and social media management.

Her heart for storytelling and collaborative planning inspired Lyndsey’s love for creative writing. She enjoys combining literary arts practice with speculative fiction elements to craft stories that center Black intergenerational experiences and regional history in the Midwest. One of her proudest accomplishments was publishing an award-winning debut novel, Bone Broth, in 2021. She remains passionate about helping others be the best version of themselves through community involvement, paired with the gift of words.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Lyndsey earned a BA in English from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts. She’s a paperback bookworm who also digs non-slasher horror movies, spending time with her loved ones, zumba classes at the Y and long walks with her dog.
